Toycon PH House Rules

All rules and regulations are in-effect immediately and strictly enforced by both SMX Convention Center security personnel and Anime Alliance Public Safety & Security Group. We reserve the right to take action on situations based on these guidelines when necessary.

Admission Tickets
If you pre-purchased your tickets, please be advised that there may be a separate line for claiming your tickets and another line to get inside the venue. Do not hesitate to ask any event personnel to be directed at the appropriate lines to lessen your hassle. At the entrance gates, you are required to present your ticket UNTAMPERED. Keep it visible for the ushers for expedited screening. Pre-purchased tickets are transferrable but can only be used ONCE. Security measures are in place to ensure your re-entry to the event premises so please do not forget to check-in with our front-security for more information about event re-entry and re-purchasing of tickets for other days.

We reserve the right to restrict and/or prohibit one’s entry if we have reasonable doubt that your re-entry and/or your ticket has been tampered with.

Code of Conduct

Attendees must respect common sense rules for public behavior, personal interaction, common courtesy, and respect for private property. Harassing or offensive behavior will not be tolerated. ToyCon’s team reserves the right to revoke, without refund, your admission of any attendee not in compliance with this policy. Any individual finding themselves in a situation where they feel their safety is at risk or who become aware of an attendee not in compliance with this policy should immediately locate the nearest member of security, or staff member, so that the matter can be handled in an expeditious manner.

ToyCon Operations Room is located in Meeting Room 13 of the SMX Convention center. During event hours, you can always find a ToyCon staff and/or security in the office. Feel free to visit us for any questions. An auxiliary mobile security team outside SMX Convention center (vehicle with a yellow or blue beacon light) from Anime Alliance Public Safety & Security will be available before and after event hours for any questions and concern.

RESTRICTIONS IN THE EVENT HALLS

Handcarts, Trolleys, Rolling Luggage, or Oversized Strollers
Due to the number of attendees that is expected, and for safety reasons – handcarts, trolleys, rolling luggage and oversized strollers are restricted to some areas defined by SMX Convention Center and ToyCon officials inside the Exhibit area. Event staff and Anime Alliance Public Safety & Security Group reserves the right to ask event goers to deposit these items at the baggage counter located at the event lobby.

Paging
Please keep in mind that the paging system is restricted to event and emergency use only. Set a time and place to meet with your family and friends and communicate with them via text or phone when necessary.

Pets
Pets, including (but not limited to) iguanas, parrots, or other nonhuman critters are NOT ALLOWED at the convention. The Convention Center along with our security team will not allow animals into the building. ONLY SERVICE ANIMALS are allowed to enter the convention and the venue altogether.

Smoking, Including E-cigarettes and Vaping Products and Devices
No smoking is allowed inside the event at any time and in any location. No smoking at ToyCon includes traditional cigarettes, pipes, cigars, plus E-cigarettes and any vaping product or device. You must adhere to SMX convention center’s no-smoking policy and only smoke in designated smoking areas around the complex.

Airspace Restriction
Event goers are NOT ALLOWED to fly or tether any helium balloons, helium filled products, drones or any lighter than air objects (powered or unpowered) at all times.

Photography
Amateur and professional photographers – including PRESS and MEDIA – are encouraged to be polite. ASK BEFORE YOU SHOOT. There may be cosplayers and/or attendees that may not be comfortable of having their pictures taken. We ask that you be responsible and mindful – any report relayed to us about violating anyone’s privacy is considered harassment and certain steps and measures will be taken as necessary.

Furthermore, photographers are DISCOURAGED in setting up camera equipment that impedes foot traffic – regardless of location as long as it is within our event jurisdiction. Our security team reserves the right to confiscate these and return to its owner at the end of the day. Using open spaces of the venue as your personal studio is considered loitering and is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Eviction from event premises and revocation of admission without refund will be enforced for excessive and multiple violations.

Costume & Weapons Policy
• EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, ALL CONTEST PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT/CHECK-IN THEIR HANDHELD PROPS AT THE REGISTRATION DESK TO BE VALIDATED. All props considered to be dangerous for public usage will be asked to deposit the item and shall only be used on-stage with certain restrictions as instructed.

• TO MAINTAIN PUBLIC SAFETY, ANIME ALLIANCE (As well as local security) RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CONFISCATE NON-VALIDATED PROPS (Registered contestant or not) THAT ARE DEEMED DANGEROUS AND HARMFUL FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC. Local authorities may be contacted if the situation warrants.

NO dangerous weapons. These can include:
▪ Bladed or edged weapons, and/or live steel of any kind such as knives, swords, axes, martial arts equipment, etc.
▪ Projectile weapons (even plastic) are also not permitted as props.
▪ Liquid dispensing weapons. If you need to use hairspray or aerosol cans please do so outside, as some patrons may be allergic to or irritated by the contents.
▪ Incendiaries or anything that produces a live flame, explosion or spark.
▪ Long props such as poles or pointed items, which might accidentally cause injury, must not exceed 2.1 meters or 7 feet. Any long prop that exceeds 7 feet in length/height is prohibited. If situation warrants, cosplay officials will request cosplayers with props as long as 6.5 feet to 7 feet in length/height to deposit their props at the baggage counter and event officials will hand them over during the competition.
▪ Chains that can be used as a weapon are prohibited; depending on the situation 1 meter length is a preferred maximum.
▪ Live blades and guns/firearms are not allowed on the premises and not allowed in the competition.

Anything that our management has deemed harmful to the public will be confiscated and will be returned at the end of the day.

Sitting in Exhibit Hall Aisles
Due to fire hazards, sitting in the Exhibit Hall aisles is not allowed at all times.

No Drugs, Alcohol and Illegal Controlled Substances
ToyCon is a DRUG & ALCOHOL FREE event for attendees. Anyone caught having illegal substances and/or alcohol with them – especially being consumed within our jurisdiction – will have one or more of the following steps taken:
– Security and police will be notified in accordance to city ordinances and governing procedures, entrance will be revoked without refund, evicted from the event premises and a ban on future ToyCon events (and Anime Alliance controlled events) will be issued.
– Alcohol consumers will be asked to leave the premises immediately. A person under the influence that causes a negative impact to the event will be evicted from the event premises, revocation of entrance fee without refund and a ban on future ToyCon events (and Anime Alliance controlled events) will be issued.

CODE ADAM
Anime Alliance Public Safety & Security Group is trained and briefed about CODE-ADAM. A CODE-ADAM alert will be broadcasted and a lock-down order will be issued by the grand marshal and/or security head for any authentic missing child(ren) alert that is reported to us. Once this policy is executed – no child will be able to leave the event premises without ANY guardian/parent confirming their relation to the child – especially if the description fits the missing child. Once this is executed, we’d like to seek the cooperation and understanding of each and everyone in the event hall for both the safety of the child and everyone else.

A COUPLE OF GUIDELINES FOR FIRST TIMERS – AND REGULAR ATTENDEES:

BEFORE ENTERING THE EVENT:

– Make sure that you are at the correct LINE! Ask an event marshal that will be roving around outside the premises to make sure you are on the right line. There may be 2 lines – people who has pre-purchased a ticket AND people who are purchasing their tickets at the gate.
– If you have purchased your ticket through SM Tickets – please make sure you have read their redemption guidelines.
– Please prepare EXACT CHANGE! This reduces the transaction time big-time.
– Please do not cut anyone off in-line. Be polite and ask where the end of the line is. Security personnel reserves the right to intervene with any arguments about any party’s position in line and will request all concerned parties to move at the end of the line for fairness to all concerned.

INSIDE THE EVENT HALL
– There’s a LOT of people expected to attend the event – so we advise you to BE VERY AWARE OF YOUR BELONGINGS. ToyCon’s management and security team is NOT RESPONSIBLE for your belongings – attended or unattended.
– Announced events and guests are subject to change without prior notice. Every effort will be made to announce any changes on the ToyCon website and official social media pages. You may also check with our secretariat desk located at the SMX Convention Center lobby and also inside HALL 2.
– If you see anything suspicious – PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO REPORT IT IMMEDIATELY. We’ll definitely take care of it!
– Please use the trash bins located all around the event hall. Anything can be a tripping hazard to anyone especially elderly people and children. Please be very mindful of this.
– Loitering in the lobby is strictly prohibited.
– Sitting by the railings and in open spaces inside the event hall, lobby and within our event jurisdiction is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
– Advanced camera equipment and lighting that impedes foot traffic and attract too much attention is strictly prohibited inside the exhibition hall and in open spaces of the convention within our jurisdiction.
DO NOT TOUCH THE EXHIBITS, DISPLAYS AND CONTEST ENTRIES. You may be liable for any damages on it that you may cause.
DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CHILDREN UNATTENDED. Put a name badge on your child or an ID and in-case of emergency contact. We enforce CODE-ADAM – but this does not guarantee anything.
PLEASE YIELD and MOVE ASIDE for EVENT STAFF, EMERGENCY & SECURITY PERSONNEL AT ALL TIMES. They may be responding to a time-sensitive situation/emergency so please give the courtesy of moving aside as soon as you see them rushing.

A friendly reminder from Anime Alliance Public Safety and Security Group

To everyone,

We at Anime Alliance care deeply about the safety and well-being of everyone in conventions, and our Public Safety and Security Group continually strives to keep our events safe and secure. However, a truly safe event can only be achieved through the cooperation of the entire community: event goers, cosplayers and staff. Help us foster a safe environment for yourself and others on the events/supported events of Anime Alliance.
Anime Alliance Public Safety and Security Group has its own policies and procedures aimed at your safety and welfare. You help maintain your own safety on events by following all security policies, and by using common sense safety practices, such as being aware of your belongings, reporting suspicious and/or malicious activities, and watching out for each other; etc.

Remember, Safety is Everyone’s Responsibility!

From, Anime Alliance Public Safety and Security Group
