AR Experience Screenshot 3
From Saturday April 20th, Filipino fans will be able to take on the role of legendary comic book and movie hero Tony Stark as he tests the new Mark 42 armor for the final time before active service in the upcoming release of Marvel’s Iron Man 3.

Become Iron Man is an all-new experience from Marvel Studios. Using ground-breaking motion-sensor technology it allows users to assemble and test the new Mark 42 armor, and be immersed in the action of the film.

Held at SM Malls across the country, candidates will be given a unique code before their experience at the testing facility. On arrival, test pilots will be greeted by Stark Industries technicians and guided by Tony Stark’s computerized personal assistant, Jarvis. They will assemble the armor and test the repulsors and flight system.

Adding to the Iron Man experience, fans can also look forward to Gameloft’s showcase of the Iron Man 3 app where gamers can incarnate our superhero, develop and upgrade armors to fight the A.I.M. in addictive, epic battles through intuitive touch controls. Iron Man 3 - The Official Game is free and will be available on iOS and Android from April 25th, 2013.

Check in and celebrate with Foursquare Day Philippines this April 16 in SM Megamall

Foursquare, a location-based social networking site for mobile devices where users "check-in" at places through smartphones, text message or apps, is coming up with a special holiday for Foursquare aficionados – the much-anticipated #4SqDay!

#4sqDay is all about community: reaching out to people through establishing business or personal relationships via social networking. #4sqDay or Foursquare Day is celebrated as a way of acknowledging the impact Foursquare has made in the lives of its users. With Foursquare, distance and differences are conquered, taking social networking to a whole new level.

Foursquare Day activities vary in each locality. While some choose to celebrate the day through get-togethers and/or lectures, others do it the Foursquare way – a check-in. In the Philippines, however, a grand, global celebration is brewing. Aside from the meet and greet of Foursquare Superusers, this year's festivities will even be bigger as Foursquare Philippines partner with SM Cinema's e-PLUS along with SM Megamall, Starmobile and Papa John's Pizza. Expect an afternoon of fun-filled activities on April 16 at SM Megamall Atrium. For exclusive treats, make sure you unlock the #4sqDay 2013 official badge to get your own swags from Foursquare and a treat from Papa John's Pizza. The first 200 who will present the #4sqDay 2013 badge at the event will be entitled to a treat from Papa John's Pizza and the first 100 will be given limited edition Foursquare Day 2013 swag.

e-PLUS will be raffling off flip cameras to lucky Foursquare Day attendees while Starmobile will be giving away a mobile phone.

The Foursquare Day Philippine leg is made possible by SM Megamall, Starmobile, Papa John's Pizza and e-PLUS card—your most convenient access to the movies.

For updates, visit www.4sqphilippines.com or via Twitter: @4sqPhilippines with hashtag #4sqDay or #4sqDayPH. To learn more about e-PLUS, visit www.facebook.com/eplus.sm.

Road to Ninja: Naruto The Movie - movie review ( spoiler warning)

Let me start this review by saying I haven’t followed this franchise for years (with exception of the movies), having said that, I recommend it to those who haven’t seen Naruto for some time like me.

About RTN:
Naruto Shippuden the Movie: Road to Ninja a.k.a. Naruto Shippuden Movie 6 a.k.a. Road to Ninja is the 9th movie overall in the Naruto Universe debuted in Japanese theaters July 28, 2012 and in SM Cinemas April 10, 2013. Naruto’s creator, Masashi Kishimoto is personally involved with the movie, creating the story and providing character designs with Yasuharu Takanashi's score and fan favorite band Asian Kung Fu Generation for the OST.

RTN opens when reality that not having parents and living alone hits Naruto big-time and Sakura did not make him feel any better about it, Tobi did the trick. By using Genjutsu on Naruto, Tobi gave Naruto (and Sakura) an alternative reality wherein Minato and Kushina are alive and since Sakura is in it too, became an orphan and her parents are the celebrated heroes of Konoha.

What I didn’t like about RTN is that the graphics is unlike the usual Naruto movies, it was almost as if it was taken from the TV series. RTN does not also explain the reason behind the ‘Black-Naruto’, what Sakura’s parents did that made them heroes of Konoha, and at some part of the movie, the illusion technique became a space-time dimension where Tobi can come and go. Another sad thing about this is that even though Sakura is with Naruto, she became the worst Sakura you can ever imagine. Before Tobi did his juju, Sakura insensitively tells Naruto –an orphan, how she hated her parents and when Naruto scolded her, she tells him how Sasuke –seeking revenge for the death of his parents, would understand her. I would just hope that her fans would still like her after watching RTN.

On the brighter side, RTN gave us a more personal view and emotionally hurt Naruto. How he misses his parents. How he longs to have a family, a warm home, and someone who would greet him when he gets home. By end of the movie, it turned out that it is Naruto’s birthday. While we get the same characters we see in the main story, with the exception of some, of totally different personalities and fetishes –assuming that this is Naruto’s dream state, which will definitely give the audience a good laughing out loud. There are also chunks of flashback in one of the parts that will bring nostalgia to those who have seen the earlier episodes. Even though RTN is different from the other Naruto movies, it could pass as a subplot of the main story.

Despite some negative parts of RTN, I can go as far as saying that this is the ultimate fan-fiction. Being the first anime to be shown in the big screen in a very long time, fans old and new would definitely enjoy it.
